At least once in your life you must come to Singapore
Cai Guo-Qiang: Head On
If the name Cai Guo-Qiang rings a bell, it may be because he recently curated “Peasant da Vincis”, an impressive showcase of Chinese peasant inventions, at the equally impressive Rockbund Art Museum in Shanghai.
“Head On” was Cai’s earlier work, first exhibited in 2006 at the Deutsche Guggenheim as his debut solo show in Germany. It consists of 99 life-size replicas of wolves running and flying into a glass wall. Trust me, it’s definitely something one must see in person to grasp the magnificence of the work. Definitely worth a trip to the National Museum of Singapore for those in town !

Food frenzy #30
An extra incentive to drink milk, considering they come in such lovely old school bottles.
Hong Kong, the land of fishball mee pok soups.
Like I said, land of fishball mee pok soups. A pity they aren’t served with red chilli slices in soy sauce though.
Thirst that only bottomless iced coffee could quench
Hello y’all, I’m back in Hong Kong, turns out it’s just as sweltering HOT everywhere. Asia is the clear winner though, with its decent air conditioning infrastructure (loosely speaking as I’m only looking at Hong Kong and Singapore). Such a lifesaver !
I’ve had a good trip cramped full of homecooked meals, thrift (and some non-thrift) shopping, cats, family time and plenty of afternoons spent in gardens. Unfortunately my camera’s so overloaded with photos that I cannot upload them directly with a cable. I’m trying to delete as many as I could before I resort to buying a card reader. Well, let’s see.
