Dong Liang

It was late autumn in Shanghai when I first checked out for myself the cutting edge concept store housed in a quaint three-storey lane house that Dong Liang is. A great store to explore if you are curious about emerging Chinese fashion designers. I was there for Beijing-based Central Saint Martins-schooled Vega Wang but ended up with a dress by Shanghai designer Ni Hua under her Miss Mean label instead. It was hard to leave the store empty-handed. I think my wallet ached a little.

  1. wow i didn’t know that we have this in common as well! i’ve just recently heard about this shop and wanted to check it out on the next visit to Shanghai or Beijing. did you want an LED/EL dress? i wanted to see it for Uma Wang’s design, and the shop owner’s web posts seemed interesting. anyway, thanks for sharing your first-hand experience! i’d love to see what damaged your wallet!

luz – Nothing as fashion forward as LED/EL ! I did check out Uma Wang while I was there but the f/w collection wasn’t too wearable (at least not for me). Need to take a good picture of the dress first and maybe I’ll post it up here.
